I printed on matte, gloss, ultra-gloss, semi-gloss and plain, and found the XP to be flexible and very capable, with a few codicils to that latter statement.

The scanning platform is oddly only set up for regular letter-sized paper, and not 11 X 17, a weird omission since the unit itself seems long enough to accommodate Epson XP-950 Printer larger size original.
